Program Description

At Wave Barber Institute (WBI), we believe barbering is more than a skill — it’s a craft, a lifestyle, and a path to independence. Our 1,528-hour Barbering Program is built to take students from beginner to professional through a powerful combination of classroom learning, real-world practice, and modern business training.

Students learn everything from precision cutting, shaving, and facial care to professional conduct, client service, and entrepreneurship. With guidance from licensed instructors and real shop experience, you’ll gain the confidence and skill to turn your passion into a career.

WBI offers both in-person and online learning options through our hybrid program, allowing students to complete up to 576 hours online and the rest in our hands-on training clinic. Every lesson is designed around our core values — Precision. Passion. Professionalism.

Graduates of Wave Barber Institute are fully prepared to take the North Carolina State Board of Barber Examiners licensing exam and start working as licensed barbers ready to make their mark in the industry and their communities.
